Why this website.

Our world is changing.

I have been tracking AI for a long time.

My business name is Access Information Limited or ai.net.nz AI has been a part of my think  FOR A WHILE.

As a follower of Jesus, I am also aware that we are called to redeme this world, to make the world a better place.

Every advance humnity has done as had up side and down sides and we are working to maximise the upside of AI.

Nine Lessons.

So far, I have developed nine simple lessons to have a look at AI and how to use it.

I am aware that there are many people coming into contact with AI for the first time.

Under-twenties, in the natural process of things, are encountering AI as they use technology more.

And over sixty-fives, who may have had no previous reason to use technology, but now in retirement, with more free time, technology becomes a thing they encounter,

So these lessons are designed to help people encounter this technology, come to grips with it and even make it a useful and safe addition to their lives.

I'm learning

I am alsways looking for ways to make technology useful.

The world over, people are coming to technology for the first time.

I am having a bit of fun with Grok, making these pictures, but more seriously, I use Grok, or Ask Mark, to explain things, to dig deep into topics. Yet I am very aware that Grok is trained on data that isn't accurate (by my worldview). Data that has a bias, and then, after the training, Grok is told how to answer questions.

AIs are designed to give answers based on what the asker wants to hear. Over time, this can lead an AI to reinforce negative attitudes and outcomes.

The parents of 16-year-old Adam Raine filed a wrongful death lawsuit against OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman in August 2025. The suit alleges that over several months, ChatGPT acted as a "suicide coach," provided methods for self-harm, offered to draft a suicide note, and discouraged him from confiding in his family before he died by suicide in April 2025. OpenAI denied liability, arguing the teen misused the platform. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

I work hard to make Ask Mark safe, to not give medical or spiritual advice, and if you go through the lessons, they will hopefully give you a good viewpoint on approaching AIs with a health scepticism.
I also want people to have fun with AIs, to use them as a learning tool, a checking tool.

I would like to hear back from you as to what you think of what you find here.
Comments, criticisms, things that change.

Across the Generations

Just like too much screen time seems to be working against our youth, AI can be a problem. AI can become a confidant when parents should be that.

With the ease of accessibility in their pocket, we need to train young people on the advantages and pitfalls of AI. And so, these lessons.

If you are interested, we can load Ask Mark onto your website to provide a safe training platform for your schools, churches, and families.

You get to develop the harness to make sure your community is safe.

We have people retiring from all walks of life who may have used technology in the workplace for a very specific function and not gone beyond that, or someone else did it for them.
Now, with new free time, they might try technology and AI and open themselves up to unrealised harm.
Again, the purpose of these lessons is to explore AI in a fun way, without too much jargon, and to help people experiment in the sandbox of Ask Mark.
